Who We Are

For years, our monthly bills have been controlled by powerful energy industry interests: utilities, generators and suppliers, and people peddling bad deals door-to-door in the alternative supplier market. Not only do customers need an advocate who will give them good information to help cut their utility bills right now, they also need somebody who will fight for them at the state capitol and before the public utility commission for long-term policy change.

Consumers need a voice at the table.

The real power to hold our utilities accountable, keep costs under control, breathe clean air, and benefit all customers equitably is in the hands of consumers, if we organize together. That’s what CUB Ohio was created to do.

The Citizens Utility Board of Ohio (CUB Ohio) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan consumer advocate that works for residential and small business utility customers. We have members in the service territories of all investor-owned utilities and in that of many rural cooperatives and municipal utilities.
