When you visit our site to read or download information, we may collect and store the following general information in order to analyze trends, gather broad demographic information, and monitor site traffic patterns that can help us further develop and improve the design and functionality of our site: your computer’s temporary IP address, browser type, and operating system, the date and time you access our site, the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site; and the various pages that you visit while on our site and length of time visited on each page.

When users request pages from our server, our Web server automatically collects some information about the users, including their IP addresses. These addresses are used by computers on the network to send the requested pages to users.

CUB Ohio utilizes users’ IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website. We also use it to gather broad demographic information about our users in general. We may combine demographic information supplied by a subscriber at registration with site usage data to provide profiles, in aggregate form, about our users and their preferences in the content of the site.

Our website also uses “cookies” to deliver content specific to users’ interests and to honor their preferences. This information is used to assist us in creating a site that will serve the needs of our users.

None of this collected data contains information that identifies users personally. CUB Ohio also collects information about users during their registration for some of our services or events and user participation in certain activities on our websites. This information includes the name, address, phone, and email provided by you at the time of registration. That information may be collected and included on CUB Ohio’s database.

From this database, CUB Ohio periodically sends out informational or advocacy messages, event invitations, and fundraising appeals. Users can indicate that they do not wish to receive communications information from CUB Ohio by contacting us at info@cuboh.org.

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information, such as credit card data, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personal financial information.
